Melbourne Exhibition Tiles
(M129 and M130)
Dust pressed, 8 x 8 in, finely painted with underglaze enamels, M129 with some overglaze enamels, marked Minton Hollins & Co; Patent Tile Works Stoke On Trent. Both carry the hand-written inscription - "Given to Geo. Deighton by exhibitor at Melbourne Exhibition, Australia. 1880.1".

Malkin tile

Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, buff body, hand decorated over white satin finish glaze, the black coloured outline cut into the white glaze surface, moulded mark Malkin England 459 6230, pencil mark "Wild", April 1959.
A good example of the style of that period and possibly decorated by Dorincourt or Kenneth Clark.
