Inlaid tiles, 6 x 6 inch, Godwin or Minton, inset into the four faces of the base of a memorial cross, Ilam Cemetery Derbyshire, c. 1860.
The tile second from left is designed by AWN Pugin, the others may be Pugin but this has yet to be verified.
The tile on the extreme left is on the exposed face of the memorial and is suffering from deterioration due to the elements. The other three tiles are in relatively good condition, though the blue tile (second from right) has a piece missing - due to the weather or possibly due to an unkindly impact.
