Selected Simpson tiles for your visual pleasure
(M187) Plastic clay, each 6 x 6 in, hand painted under glaze, impressed mark, WB Simpson, c.1875. These four tiles decorate four sides of the square top of a Victorian mahogany plant stand.	(M058) Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, moulded to imitate tube lining, overglaze enamel on flower stamens, blank marked S in a moulded triangle, TA Simpson, c.1900.
	(M063) Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, relief moulded, blank marked T.A.S England Rd 119026 for 1892, pattern number hand painted 473, T A Simpson & Co. Burslem.
(M272) Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, under glaze transfer printed and block printed colour in an Aesthetic style, portcullis reverse with lozenge shaped central reserve, printed registration mark and printed T.A.Simpson Hanley, pencilled 372 7/LL 1/8, T A Simpson & Co, design first registered 29 March 1881. The blank is by Elijah Birch and is very similar to one attributed to Doultons.
