(M134) Dust pressed, 6.1 x 6.1 in, relief moulded with Aesthetic and Arts & Crafts devices, decorated with coloured glazes, pattern No 854, marked with logo and The Campbell Tile Co Stoke Upon Trent No.1, c.1882. |
![]() (M221) Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, moulded design adapted from a 17th century Turkish pattern, standard Campbell reverse, Campbell (Brick &) Tile Co., c.1882. This design was used in early Sainsbury shops. This reverse, and those of many other Campbell tiles of a similar date, have the words 'Brick &' missing from the back mark, leaving a gap where they should appear. This helps date the tile to when Robert Minton Campbell changed the company name by dropping reference to brick making.
(M253) Dust pressed buff body, 8 x 8 in, moulded design, moulded mark The Campbell Brick & Tile Co Stoke on Trent, pattern number 22 (scratched into surface), c.1875. |
(M236) Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, moulded art nouveau design which is stiking in its bold simplicity, moulded mark Campbell 8 Stoke on Trent England, Campbell Tile Co, c.1905.
(M227) Dust pressed, 6 x 6 in, printed in glaze, moulded compass mark enclosed in a circular 'Made in England', also a moulded D and a moulded 6, Campbell Tile Co, c.1930.
