Dunsmore tile
(M167)
Dust pressed buff body, 6 x 6 in, hand decorated in glaze, blank marked BCM/GW&S, blank by George Wooliscroft, decorated by Dunsmore Tiles, c.1930.
This reverse is interesting, the moulded mark is quite faint and the arrow marks the raised bar where the mark can be found. Oddly, only three corners of the reverse have a chevron indent.
The BCM mark is found on several tiles from various companies and is possibly a trade association or similar body (British Ceramics Manufacturers??).
If anyone knows what the letters stand for - please let me know.
