he City of Derby is the "Ghost Capital of England",
an intriguing thought. This section of the City of Derby web site
will bring together all the information available on the city's
spookiest places, where ghostly presences are felt and where,
sometimes, things actually do go 'bump in the night'.
ith the help of author Wayne Anthony and local historian Richard Felix we will discover
ghosts from the nations history who have found their way to Derby -
Bonnie Prince Charlie
and Mary, Queen of Scots for instance -
tormented souls, holy ghosts, surgical spirits (haunted hospitals),
commercial ghosts (in shops and offices), and haunted inns.
