There was a Saxon Church recorded here in the Domesday Survey of 1086 A.D., there is now no trace of this building. The earliest part of the present Church is the Early English Chancel. Notable features of the Church are the Geometrical Tracery Windows in the South Aisle, The Sale memorial to a former Rector (early 17th Century), the Jacobean Pulpit, Churchwardens chest 1662 and early 17th century porch.
