We play in the Unison East Midlands Football League.
The league has recently had its table structure changed.
The Unison East Midlands League consists of a Premier division,
First division and four regionalised second divisions.
Derby City is currently in the first division of the
Unison East Midlands league. We came third last year
in our table and just missed out on promotion to the U.E.M.L. Premier division.
Derby City was established in 1991. It currently has around 28 players registered for the team.

Julie Goodman has played ladies football for many years, but has had to retire early due to injury problems. She has played at very high level teams including Ilkeston Town and Doncaster Belles. She plays a vital role within the team by keeping up fitness level and increasing ball control during her training sessions.
The team train once a week on Thursday evenings from 7pm - 9pm.
The two hour training sessions concentrate on fitness and
ball control. The team train and play at the Borrowash Rd SPONDON Derby. The team has a mixed level of football skill within the Club. Some of the girls have been playing for 19 years, while others have never played before. Some players have played at very high standards of football including the Nationwide Premier League, while some have never kicked a ball. The club prides itself on the development of players, especially those who have never kicked a ball before and it teaches them the skills of the game and how to be part of a team. During the summer and to keep up fitness levels the club enters many 5 a-side and 7 a-side games of football. The club have entered 4 competitions between June and July this year and have managed to get to the final on 3 occasions. They became runners up twice and have won one competition overall. Other success's include wining promotion to the Top division of the Unison East Midlands league and becoming runners up at a large ladies football competition held at Moss Farm Recreation Centre, Northwich, Cheshire, England in 1989. The team have had new shirts for the start of the 1997/98 season. A new sponsorship deal has been arranged with Andy Mitchell Sports based in South Normanton through club press officer Carol Corbett. The team had some misfortune at the end of last season by having the first team kit stolen from one of the players cars and the police have never been able to recover it for them. A plea was placed in the local paper, but despite no kit being recovered, a new sponsor stepped in. Andy Mitchell runs a sports shop in South Normanton, Derbyshire called Mitchell Sports. He said "I recognise the growth and potential of women's football and had seen the story in the papers, so I decided to step in and help them." The team is pictured above with their new kit (Courtesy of the Derby Evening Telegraph) and the story that was placed in the local paper. Carol also quoted "The Club is in the process of starting a reserve team and future plans include the development of a junior squad. At the moment we are keen to get lady footballers over the age of 14 to expand and strengthen the club". If there are any local lady footballers who feel they can play football and wish to join the club, they can come to any of the training sessions every Thursday night between 7pm and 9pm at the Asterdale Sports & Leisure Club (address above) or they can simply get any detail of the club by contacting Carol Corbett on :- +44 1332-664311 (Home) or by writing to her at :- 39 Springwood Drive, OAKWOOD, Derby, England, DE21 2HE.
